Questions we get asked
Who is BuildQuot for?
Builders, contractors and consultants across the UAE who send requests for quotation, and the suppliers and sub-contractors who respond to them. Both sides work in the same system rather than emailing across it.
Does it cost anything to start?
No. The Free plan covers up to 5 active projects and 20 RFQs a month with full quotation management, and it stays free. Suppliers are never charged — registering, getting verified and quoting cost nothing.
Can I invite a supplier who isn't on BuildQuot yet?
Yes. Type their email address on the RFQ and they receive a secure link to submit a quotation without an account. If they want to keep the quote and receive future RFQs, they can turn that submission into a registered account in one step.
What does the verification tick mean?
That the company's trade licence and VAT certificate have been submitted and reviewed by our team. Only BuildQuot can grant or revoke it — a buyer cannot mark their own supplier as verified, which is what keeps the badge worth anything.
How does the AI comparison work?
It reads the submitted quotations — including uploaded PDFs and Excel files — extracts the line items, and aligns equivalent items across suppliers so you compare like with like. Scope gaps and outliers surface instead of hiding behind a low bottom line.
Do my suppliers' prices stay private?
Yes. A supplier's stock-code catalogue is private to them, and a quotation is visible only to the buyer it was submitted to. Suppliers never see each other's numbers.
Is my data held securely?
Documents and quotations are access-controlled per company and per RFQ, every action is recorded in an activity timeline, and dates are handled in Gulf Standard Time so the audit trail matches the working day.
How long does it take to get started?
Registration takes a few minutes. You can create a project and send your first RFQ immediately; document verification runs in parallel and does not block you from sourcing.
